Adding device driver files
A driver file contains the information that the StreamServer needs to communicate with the device. When you create a device driver, you must connect it to the appropriate driver files (*.drs, *.enc, *.map, etc.).
When you create a new device driver, the driver file you want to use may already exist in the device driver repository. In this case you just have to connect the driver file to the new device driver.
If the driver file does not exist in the repository, you must first add the driver file to the repository, and then connect it to the new device driver.
To connect a driver file to a device driver
In the Device driver files area, check and select the driver file that you want to connect to the device driver.
To add a new driver file to the repository
1
In the Device driver files area, click New. The Enter name dialog box opens.
2
Enter the name of the driver file and click OK. A new empty driver file is added to the list.
3
4
Browse to the driver file you want to add and click Open. The contents of the file is imported to the new driver file.
