Columns

In addition to create adjacent Story frames on the same page letting a Story flow between them, you can automatically create columns within a Story frame. Optionally you can balance the columns, i.e. all columns will have the same height.

To split a Story in columns

1	Right-click in the Story and select the Insert > Column Section command. The content below the inserted command will be balanced.

2	In the Stories panel, select the Column Section command.

3	In the Properties panel, select the Column Section property and click the browse button. The Column Section dialog opens.

4	Specify the settings for creating of the columns. For more information, see the Column section dialog.

Creating Story columns

Suppose you have defined the following Story:

For easy-to-read layout purposes, you want to split the text in three columns.

To achieve this you:

1	Add a Column Section command at the beginning of the Story text.

2	In the Column Section dialog, select the three column icon in the Presets section.

The output will have the following layout:

To balance the columns in equally high columns, you:

1	Select the Column Section in the Stories panel and open the Column Section dialog.

2	In the Column Balancing drop-down list, select Section.
