Usage scenario
This scenario is about Maria Clark who works in marketing in a consumer product company. Her primary objective is to build and maintain brand awareness.
It is the year 2008 and the Olympic Games will take place in a few months. Maria's company is one of the key sponsors and many marketing activities are planned. One of the activities is to include marketing information related to the Olympics in the business documents that are sent to suppliers, customers and employees.
To write the marketing messages, Maria logs on to StreamStudio and her default application Composer. She writes two texts – one for their high value customers and one for other customers. She applies bold formatting on the headers and italic formatting on the first sections. The rest of the text she puts in a bulleted list. When Maria has completed the texts, she sets them to ready for approval.
Then she selects the area on invoices where the company usually have the monthly marketing campaigns. She specifies that the message to their high-value customers should be imported in the selected area one month before the Olympic Games and until the end of the games. She also specifies that this message is only for their high-value customers.
She uses the same text area and the same period of time for the text prepared for their other customers.
When the texts are approved by the Marketing Manager, Maria adds the texts to the document. To ensure the invoices are presented as expected, she simulates the correct date and previews the invoice with the marketing message. She also simulates a high-value customer as receiver and previews the invoice with the message intended for those customers. Maria is pleased with the results and informs the Marketing Manager who publishes the new texts.
When the date and customer categories criteria are met during document processing, the marketing messages are automatically included in the invoices.
