Versioning Composition Center templates

Each time you modify sections (add, edit, reorder or delete sections), the version of the Composition Center template is increased by 1. The Composition Center user is notified when a Composition Center template is changed, and must decide whether to update the document definitions based on the template.

Overriding the template version

If you want to have the Composition Center template version increased by 1 after deploy, and if you have made intermediate version changes before deploy, you have the option to override the automatically updated template version.

For example, if the latest deployed version is 3, and you modify the section configuration four times before you export and deploy next time, the version of the Composition Center template after deploy will be 7. If you, before you export and deploy, select Override version and enter 4 as version number, the version of the Composition Center template after deploy will be 4.

If you for some reason want to increase the version number before you export and deploy you can do so by using Override version.

Note:

You must not override the version with a number equal to or less than the latest deployed version. If you do, deployment will fail.
