Section A Section is a reference to a Composition Center section edited in the Composition Center web application. The Section name and location in the document or Story is defined in the StoryTeller tool. The content of the Section is edited in the Composition Center web application. Content flow for Sections Content flow for Sections in Stories If a Section is configured in a Story and this Story is linked to Story frames, content can flow in the output documents. If content does not fit in a Story frame, the following applies by default: • For printed output: – Objects that can be split up, for example texts and content in groups, automatically flows to the next linked Story frame. – Objects that cannot be split up, for example images and exposed Stories, and that are larger (higher) than the Story frame are not rendered in the output. Nor is any content following a non-rendered object included in the output. • For email/web output (see Using StoryTeller with unpaginated HTML): – The Story frame size is not considered in email/web output. Object are rendered in the output regardless of their size. No content flow for Sections in text objects If a Section is configured in a StoryTeller text object, content added to this Section cannot flow to another page or Story frame. The size of the text object determines the space available for content. If content does not fit in the text object, the following applies by default: • For printed output: – Objects that can be split up, for example texts and content in groups, are truncated in the output. – Objects that cannot be split up, for example images and exposed Stories, and that are larger (higher) than the text box are not rendered in the output. Nor is any content following a non-rendered object included in the output. • For email/web output: – From a StreamServe perspective, text box content is treated in the same way as for printed output. However, because the final wrapping and formatting of the text box content is done by the email client/web browser, the exact output cannot be predicted. For best control, we recommend that you always use Sections in locations that grow with content, such as the main Story, table cells, and growing text boxes.
