The StoryTeller tool

The StoryTeller tool is part of the StreamServe Correspondence Management solution and is used to define the structure, content, and layout of a business document.

A StoryTeller Process definition is exported and deployed to a StreamServer application which uses the definition to produce output from the input data and an output device driver. The output can be page-formatted or unpaginated depending on the driver.

In StoryTeller it is possible to:

•	Import LXF, XHTML, PDF or RTF files to use as a starting point when creating your design.

•	Link to external content, for example texts written in StreamStudio Composition Center by business users, and use this content with formatting features like wrapping text around images, and rotating objects.

•	Add interactive forms and objects like radio buttons and input fields, together with Unpaginated HTML and PDF drivers.

•	Lay out your content in automatically balanced columns.

•	Use tables with recurring fields as defined in the Event tool.

•	Re-use content created in other StoryTeller documents or with other tools creating LXF, XHTML, PDF or RTF output.

•	Use content with an HTML driver to produce unpaginated output for emails etc.

•	Use content with a DOCX driver to produce output for further editing in Microsoft Word.

•	Let content overflow between frames on a page as well as onto the following pages, by adding the content to a Story and using it in a Story frame. Examples of content include a Composition Center text or a table with a dynamic number of rows.

•	Structure your document by grouping page definitions, for example a front and back page.

•	Structure your page definitions by grouping objects, to for example easily move a group of related objects.

•	Freely rotate and position images and overlays on the pages.

•	Handle multi-language documents including use of translation files.

StreamServe Correspondence Management

StreamServe Correspondence Management also includes:

•	Composition Center – a StreamStudio web application that enables business users to manage and personalize content in business documents generated by StreamServer applications.

•	Ad Hoc Correspondence – A plug-in web application which supports organizations when creating on-demand customer correspondence with personalized content. For more information, see the Ad Hoc Correspondence and Correspondence Reviewer documentation.
