File menu

New	Creates a new TDT project.
Open	Opens a browser for selecting a saved TDT project in .tdt or .rst format. Note: You can use transformation examples by opening the tdt folder: Note: You can drag a saved TDT project into the TDT editor, but outside of the input panels. Note: You can use all repositories accessible from StoryTeller when specifying path to a TDT project.
Save	Saves the StoryTeller Document according to changes made in the TDT editor. Note: If you run the editor stand-alone, only the TDT project is saved.
Save as...	Saves the current TDT project under a specified name.
Update StoryTeller	Updates StoryTeller document with updates made in the TDT editor. Note: When you open the TDT editor from StoryTeller, changes are locked in StoryTeller regarding Data source, Data template, and Transformations. Use this option to view impact of your changes made in the TDT editor. Note: This option is only available when the TDT editor is opened from StoryTeller.
Import	Data Source – Opens the Open Data Source dialog where you can select an XML file to use as data source. Data Template – Opens the Load Data Template Definition dialog where you can select an XML file to use as Data Template. Transformation Definition – Opens the Load Data Transformation definition dialog where you can select an XML file to use as Transformation definition. Data instance filters – Opens the Load Data Instance Filter dialog where you can select an XML file to use as Data instance filter. Note: You can drag and drop an XML file from e.g. Windows explorer into the input panels.
Export	Data Template – Opens the Save Data Template dialog where you can save the Data Template as an XML file. Data Source – Opens the Save Data Source dialog where you can save the Data source as an XML file. Transformation Definition – Opens the Save Data Transformation definition dialog where you can save the transformation definition as an XML file. Compiled Transformation Definition – Opens the Save Compiled Transformation definition dialog where you can save the transformation definition as an XML file. Data instance filters – Opens the Save Data Instance Filter dialog where you can save the Data instance filter as an XML file.
Close	Closes the Template Driven Transformation editor. Note: If the editor is opened stand-alone, this option is called Exit.

 

Edit menu

Undo	Undoes the last operation.
Redo	Redoes the last undone operation
Cut	Cuts out the current selection onto the clipboard.
Copy	Copies the current selection onto the clipboard.
Paste	Pastes the current content of the clipboard at the current cursor location.
Select all	Selects everything within the active panel.
Use Compiled Transformation	Select to use compiled transformation. For more information, see Result panel with following tabs available.
Validate Transformation Definition	Select to use XSD validation of the transformation definition. This allows you to directly be notified on errors while entering the transformation definition.

View menu

Restore panels	Restores the panels to their default location and size
Show filtered data instance	Toggles the Data instance - filtered view on and off.
Show logging window	Toggles the logging panel on and off (Located in bottom left corner).
Clear logging window	Clears the logging panel.
Set log level	Debug – Shows all available logging. Info – Shows all error, warning and info messages. Warning – Shows all error and warning messages. Error – Shows all error messages.

Tools menu

Beautify XML	Template – Re-formats imported or copied Data template XML into a more "tidy" XML. Data source – Re-formats imported or copied Data source XML into a more "tidy" XML. Transformation – Re-formats imported or copied Transformation XML into a more "tidy" XML. All – Reformats all three above.
Options	Opens the Application options dialog. See Applications options dialog.

Show transformation examples

Opens a web reader with documentation on public transformation definitions and examples.
