Saving documents as SSD files

You can:

•	Specify to save documents as compressed SSD files. See Compressing saved files.

•	Specify to save a thumbnail image with the SSD file. See Saving thumbnails.

•	Specify to save the application configuration with the SSD file. See Saving and loading application configuration with a document.

To save a StoryTeller document as an SSD file

Select File > Save As and specify a name.

Note:

If you have opened an SSD file in a stand-alone StoryTeller tool (outside of Design Center), you can save the file by selecting File > Save.

Do not try to edit the SSD file, it may look like XML but it is a storage of streams that can be binary. The SSD file should also be treated as a binary file when transferring it to a UNIX machine.

 

In stand-alone StoryTeller, if you save a Document that previously was saved using an older version of StoryTeller, you get a warning message dialog. In this dialog, you can de-select to check version when saving. If you want to switch it on again, you can select Check released version on save in Tools > Options > Defaults > Persistence. Note: This only applies to stand-alone SSD files, not for documents used as resources in Design Center.
