StreamStudio connection profiles

A StreamStudio connection profile contains connection and recovery settings for a communication channel between a template synchronization task defined in the Task Scheduler application and the Java application server.

Setting	Description
Name	The name of the profile.
URI	The URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) that identifies the profile.
Profile sub-type	The type of web service profile (StreamStudio connection).
URL	The address of the StreamStudio web service. For secure web services, use the https prefix. Note: When using the https prefix, you must also establish a secure channel. See the Secure channel profile setting below.
Port	The port to use. Examples of common ports: • 8080 for http • 8081 for https
Attempt recovery	Specifies whether StreamServe software should try to reconnect to the StreamStudio repository if a communication channel could not be established. Never StreamServe software will not try to reconnect. Limited times StreamServe software will try to reconnect a limited number of times. Forever StreamServe software will try to reconnect forever.
Number of retries	Applicable if Attempt recovery = Limited times. The number of times the StreamServer software tries to reconnect to the Java application server if a communication channel could not be established.
Retry interval (seconds)	Applicable if Attempt recovery = Limited times or Forever. The interval (in seconds) between retries.
Authentication profile	Used to select an authentication profile to be used for the connection. See Authentication profiles.
Secure channel profile	Optional. Used to establish a secure channel between StreamServe software and the Java application server. See Secure channel profiles. The following apply for a StreamStudio connection profile: • SSL (version 3) is the only supported channel type. • In the URL setting, you must use the https prefix. See the URL setting above.
