Connection, authentication, and security profiles

Connection, authentication, and security profiles
You can create different types of profiles containing connection, authentication, and security settings.
The profiles are used to establish communication channels between the OpenText StreamServe software and other services. For example, an FTP output connector uses a TCP/IP connection profile and an authentication profile to establish a communication channel to an FTP server.
Different profile categories
There are five types of profile categories:
TCP/IP profiles – Connection and recovery settings to access computers via the TCP/IP protocol. See TCP/IP profiles.
Web service profiles – Connection and recovery settings to access web services. See Web service profiles.
Authentication profiles – Authentication settings, that is user name and password. See Authentication profiles.
Secure channel profiles – Secure channel settings (SSL or TLS). See Secure channel profiles.
Certificate store profiles – Containers of digital certificates. See Certificate store profiles.
Profiles in Design Center
You create the profiles that are used within the Design Center Project as resources in a Design Center resource set. You can reuse these profile resources in several configurations within the Project.
For information about how to create the Design Center profiles, see Creating profiles in Design Center.
Profiles in Control Center
In Control Center, you create profiles that are used outside the Design Center Project. You cannot reuse a Control Center profile in any other configuration.
Control Center profiles are documented in the context in which they are used. For example, for information about how to set up a connection profile in Control Center to establish a channel from StreamStudio Composition Center to an OpenText Media Management repository, see the Control Center documentation.
