Adding sample files

You must add sample files with sample data to the document type assigned to the template. In Composition Center, the business user uses the sample files to simulate input data when previewing documents and testing send emails. A sample file is also a prerequisite for displaying the selected template when creating a new document definition.

Prerequisites

•	At least one sample file per document type must be included in the resource set.

Naming conventions

•	Use descriptive file names as the sample files are listed in Composition Center.

To add a sample file for document preview

1	In the resource set, double-click the document type resource to open the Document Type editor.

2	Click the Sample Resource tab.

3	Click the Add icon and browse for a sample file.

4	Enter a Description and click OK.

Adding a sample file without redeploying the Project To add (or remove) a sample file without having to redeploy the Project, you can run the following command on a command line: java -jar smplflcmd.jar <arguments> To receive information about how to use this command line interface, enter: java -jar smplflcmd.jar --help The smplflcmd.jar file is located in: • Windows: <StreamServe installation>\Applications\Management\<Version>\lib\smplflcmd.jar • UNIX: <StreamServe installation>/applications/management/lib/smplflcmd.jar
