Recommended JVM memory settings
You must make sure there is enough memory available for the Ad Hoc, Reviewer and SSSP applications on the JVM (Java Virtual Machine).
The amount of memory required depends on the installation environment, the number of deployed web applications, and the load on the Java application server. For example, deploying the Ad Hoc, Reviewer and SSSP applications to the same Java application server as the StreamStudio web portal requires more memory than deploying the web applications to a separate Java application server. We recommend that you use a Java profiling tool for monitoring and tuning the Java memory settings on a running Java application server.
When deploying the Ad Hoc, Reviewer and SSSP applications to a separate Java application server, we recommend the following memory settings (case sensitive):
-Xmx768m
-XX:MaxPermSize=256m
-Xmx1024m
-XX:MaxPermSize=384m
For information on how to specify the memory settings, see the user documentation for the Java application server.
