Introduction to packing sites and domains
You can pack all applications in a site or application domain into a package file. For information about what is included in a package file, see What is included in a package file?.
Using package files when importing and migrating
Package files are used as input when importing and migrating environments. See Cloning sites and application domains and Migrating application domains.
Using package files as backup
You can also use the package file as a backup of an existing environment before you apply any changes to an environment. You can then use this backup to return to the previous state if you need to.
