Time pattern elements

Syntax

time{…} or time(<locale name>){…}

Down to the resolution of minutes, these can all adjust value per timezone to some extent, if there is no explicit timezone format designator (Z, z, zz) nearby. Leap second, i.e. a value of 60 for the seconds part, is allowed.

 

Element	Description
A	Locale dependent meridiem (AM/PM) designation (works best for ‘en’ locales, can get a bit strange for other locales)  Note: A is used for an uppercase Latin letter in counter patterns, and for an input letter grapheme cluster in text patterns.
h	1-2 digit 12-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (rare 0-11 convention).
H	1-2 digit 24-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (common 0-23 convention).
k	1-2 digit 12-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (common 1-12 convention).
K	1-2 digit 24-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (rare 1-24 convention).
hh	2 digit 12-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (rare 00-11 convention).
H	2 digit 24-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (common 00-23 convention).
kk	2 digit 12-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (common 01-12 convention).
KK	2 digit 24-hour clock hour using locale dependent digits (rare 01-24 convention).
M	1-2 digit minute number using locale dependent digits. Note: M is used for 1-2 digit month number in date patterns
MM	2 digit minute number using locale dependent digits Note: M is used for 2 digit month number in date patterns
S	1-2 digit seconds using locale dependent digits; no rounding Note: S is used for sign in number patterns
S	2 digit seconds using locale dependent digits, no rounding.
F, …, FFFFFFFFF	1-9 digit (as many digits as Fs) fraction of second digits (rounded if more digits are given in the input).
Z	Abbreviated time-zone name depending on locale.
z	ISO 8601 time-zone format: Z – A zero meridian time-zone ("Zulu time"). +HH[MM] or -HH[MM] – A time zone expressed as an offset of plus or minus states that the offset can be added to the time to indicate that the local time zone is HH hours and MM minutes ahead or behind.
zz	Alternate z format with colon as separator between HH and MM. (+HH[:MM] or -HH[:MM]).
