Fragment A StoryTeller fragment is a design element definition that you can share among your StoryTeller documents. The fragments can be stored as resources imported to the resource set from files in XHTML, RTF, LXF, or SSD format. If the fragment resource is created in StoryTeller (SSD format), it can contain anything a StoryTeller document can contain, including several page definitions where the pages or objects on the page can be referenced as fragments. SSD fragments can also contain Story frames with Stories held within the fragment resource. The Fragment itself can have a dynamic size but it cannot overflow to other instances. The Fragments are of different types: Overlay A static fragment, for example a document template. Dynamic This fragment can contain dynamic data, substitutions, property modifications, scripting etc. For example an address definition. Content dependent A dynamic fragment where parts or all of the fragment contains data that depends on the document content. For example: • A“Page m of n” in the page header of the document where the n value is the total number of pages rendered in the document depending on occurrence settings and length of Stories. • A TOC (Table Of Contents), where the page numbers specified for the TOC entries (for example chapter titles) reflect the position in the generated document. • A total value to be printed on the first page of the document where this value is not known until all input data has been processed, for example number of items in a table.
