Document construction workflow scenario
In this scenario, the Telecom company has decided to use StreamServe Composition Center to produce invoices.
Document designer
Andrew is in charge of the corporate graphical profile and responsible for designing the layout of the invoice. Andrew uses the stand-alone version of Design Center including the StoryTeller tool.
He defines the pages and adds content to them. To ensure the brand consistency, he re-uses centrally maintained objects that he has added to his resource set, such as corporate logotype, address definitions etc by referring to them as Fragments.
He also designs a table for recurring data.
On the back page he adds a text object that will contain a text regarding terms of payment. (This is written in Composition Center by a business user.) When Andrew is finished with the layout, he saves the Project and sends it to Diana.
Document developer
Diana is StreamServe consultant at Telecom and responsible for integrating the invoice layout into a Design Center Project. She:
To reference the terms of payment text from Composition Center, she inserts a section in the text object on the back page.
When she is finished she exports and deploys the Project and starts the StreamServer application. Now a template for invoices is available in Composition Center and Diana notifies Mary at the legal department.
Business user
Mary is business user with approval access rights in Composition Center. She is responsible for the text regarding terms of payment that will be on the back page. She has already written and approved the text in Composition Center.
After being notified by Diana, Mary logs on to Composition Center and selects the invoice template. In the section designed for terms of payment, she adds the text. She previews the document and since she is pleased with the result she publishes the invoice.
