Tables
You use tables for formatting text in a tabular fashion. You can also use a table to allow recurring fields from a block to be listed in a table. For example, you can create a table with two rows and the required number of columns, define the upper row to be a header row, and let the second row be a body row. In the body row, the Document Developer can specify the XPath to the block to make it a repeating row. You can also specify:
See Table example.
To let the table flow across several pages, you must add the table to a Story. You can select whether the table is in its own paragraph or if it shares the paragraph with other content. If the table is a paragraph object (default), it can overflow between story frames. If the table is an inline object, all of the table must fit inside one Story frame.
You can also specify if the content of the cells in a table row can continue in next Story frame if the row is not large enough. Or, if all contents of the table row must be rendered in the same Story frame.
Note:
*
You can view a table separately by selecting a table, right-clicking and selecting Edit in Table View. In the Table View, you can view all row types including the types that only occurs when the table overflows, for example “All but First Instance”.
