Drawing tools

You can create shapes using the rectangle and ellipse tools, or use the free form or curve tools. A free form has sharp corners as opposed to a curve. However, by editing points you can create one ore more curved corners on a free form.

Free forms and curves are automatically closed by default. This means that the last line is automatically drawn to the starting point of the first line of the shape. You can select to keep an object open.

To draw a free form or curve

1	Select the Document or Page view.

2	Click the Free form or Curve toolbar button.

3	In the Document or Page view, click where to start drawing the shape.

4	Draw a line and click where you want to end the line.

5	Draw the next line and click where you want to end the line.

6	Repeat until ready.

7	Double-click when the free form is finished.

To keep a free form or a curve open

1	Select the free form or the curve.

2	In the Properties panel Border & Fill category, expand the Appearance node.

3	Uncheck the Closed check-box.

Do not add text to an open shape, as it will not be rendered in the output.
