Grouping objects

You can group objects. This enables you to create a hierarchy of objects and can give you a better overview of your design. You can also work with grouped objects as one object. For example, you can resize and rotate the whole group at once.

You can temporarily ungroup objects. For example, if you want to modify the position of an object within a group.

To group objects

1	Select two or more objects.

2	Right-click the selection and select Grouping > Group.

To group objects that are inline in a text or Story

1	Select one of the objects to be grouped.

2	Right-click the object and select Grouping > Group.

3	Drag objects to the group, or right-click the group and select to insert more objects.

To un-group objects

1	Select the group.

2	Right-click the group and select Grouping > Ungroup.

Note:

To un-group objects that are inline in a text or Story, you must manually remove all objects but one from the group, until you can un-group the last object.

To edit grouped objects individually

1	Select the group.

2	Right-click the group and select Grouping > Edit Group Content.

3	Edit the object.

4	To exit the Edit Group Content mode, right-click the group in the Pages or Document panel and de-select Grouping > Edit Group Content.

Note:

You can always edit objects individually by selecting them in the panel trees, e.g. the Document panel.
