Moving objects You can move objects by selecting and dragging them: • On the Document and Page views. • In the panels. This affects the order in which they are processed in the output. You can also move objects using the arrow keys. Moving a selected object Shift key + drag Moves the selected object horizontally or vertically. If you move the pointer more downwards than sideways, the object is moved vertically, and vice versa. Alt key + drag Temporarily overrides the current snap to grid setting. If the setting is off, snap to grid is active while pressing the Alt key, and vice versa. Arrow keys Moves the selected object in the direction of the arrow key, one step a time. Without snapping to grid, one step equals one point. Alt key + arrow keys Temporarily overrides the snap to grid setting. If the setting is off, snap to grid is active while holding down the Alt key, and vice versa. Note: Alt and Shift keys can be combined. Rotating objects Click the handle at the top of the selected object’s bounding box and rotate the object in the desired direction. The rotation is relative to the center point of the object. You can move the center point by dragging it. Figure 22 The rotation handle.
