Importing objects

You can browse objects in other documents, for example other StoryTeller documents, and import page definitions, stories, tables, or other objects to your current document. You can import objects from documents in formats supported by StoryTeller. For supported formats, see Managing documents.

You can import several objects simultaneously using multi-selection (Ctrl key).

 

You can create a StoryTeller document with objects and let this Document serve as a library of pre-made objects, for example nice-looking tables with rounded corners etc. You can then import these objects to your Documents whenever needed.

Note:

To import a page definition, you must select the Document (top level) in the Document panel before you import. To import other objects, you must select a page definition or something lower in the document hierarchy.

To import objects

1	Right-click in the Document where you want to import the object and select Insert > Import Objects. The Import Objects dialog opens.

Note:

The first time you import an object, the file browser automatically opens on top of the Import Objects dialog. The previous files you have imported objects from are then available in the Source file drop-down list the next time you open the Import Objects dialog.

2	Browse to the SSD file (for example in the resource set) and click Open. The document structure is displayed.

3	Select one or more objects and click OK.
