Adding objects
You can select the object type to use on the page by selecting the corresponding toolbar button.

You can add objects directly in a Page or in a Story.
Directly in page
When you add an object directly in the Document or Page view, the object is rendered on all instances of the page definition, in the position where you add the object.

You have a Story frame on the page and the Story in it overflows to a second instance of the page definition. This means that the object you add on the page definition is rendered on all instances of the page required to render the whole Story.
 
In Story
When you add an object in a Story, the object is rendered within a Story frame only once. The position that the object is rendered depends on:
To add an object of custom size and position on a page

To add an object of default size

Select Insert and the object to create. To modify the object, see Modifying the shape of objects.
To add an object from the clipboard
Right-click in the Document, Page, or Story view and select Paste.

To add an image from the desktop or Windows explorer
Drag the image file from the desktop to the Document, Page, or Story view.
