TCP/IP profiles A TCP/IP profile contains connection and recovery settings to access a computer via the TCP/IP protocol. Settings Description Name The name of the TCP/IP profile. URI The URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) that identifies the profile. Host The IP address or host name of the server to connect to. Port The port to use. Attempt recovery Specifies whether StreamServe software should try to reconnect to the computer if the computer does not respond. Never StreamServe software will not try to reconnect. Limited times StreamServe software will try to reconnect a limited number of times. Forever StreamServe software will try to reconnect forever. Number of retries Applicable if Attempt recovery = Limited times. The number of times StreamServe software should try to reconnect if the computer does not respond. Retry interval Applicable if Attempt recovery = Limited times or Forever. The interval (seconds) between retries. Recovery action Applicable if Attempt recovery = Limited times or Never. N/A – For future use. Secure channel profile Optional. Used to establish a secure channel between StreamServe software and the host. See Secure channel profiles. Custom properties Optional. Used to add any custom properties (Property name and Property value) that are not part of the standard connection configuration above.
