Installing Framework and StreamServer on Windows

Installing Framework and StreamServer on Windows
The Framework and StreamServer Setup installs the following StreamServe components:
Supported platforms and software
For information about these, see the following sections in the Supported platforms and software documentation:
64-bit and 32-bit Setups
There are two Setups:
Framework and StreamServer (64x) – which includes 64-bit versions of the StreamServe components listed above. You can only install this if you have a 64-bit version of Windows®. In high-volume scenarios or scenarios where you have large input files, we recommend you use the 64-bit version of Framework and StreamServer because it can use more memory.
Framework and StreamServer – which includes 32-bit versions of the StreamServe components listed above. You can install this on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows.
Third-party software
Framework and StreamServer requires third-party software, such as Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64) and Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Full. The 64-bit version and 32-bit version require different software. During the Framework and StreamServer installation, the Setup does a prerequisite check and lists the required software that is missing on your computer. If any software is missing, you can install it from the Setup.
On both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms, you have the option to install Java Standard Edition Version 7 Update 9 during the Setup. If you choose not to install this, you must have another supported version of the Java Runtime Environment on your computer.
Prerequisites
To install or remove StreamServe software in a Windows environment, you must have administrator rights.
Java environment for StreamServer applications
StreamServer applications use the environment variable $STRS_JAVA_HOME to point out the Java Runtime Environment that is used to run Java components.
