Using the Type Manager
You can specify for each driver to use the Type Manager. This will add the UseTypeManager keyword to the driver DRS file, which tells the driver to use the Type Manager meaning that the fonts do not have to be listed among the font entries. When required, the font is searched in
the folders specified in strstypemanager.xml located in:
<StreamServe installation>
\Applications\StreamServer\<
version>\Common\bin
the path specified by the -fd startup argument.
Note:
If a driver specific setting is required, the standard syntax as described in Font entries, except for the ReadFont entry which always can be omitted.
E.g the PCL driver may require an explicit font setting as in the following example:
Font "Courier_New" WidthTable 1 HeightWidthRatio 0.0083323
SelectPrefix "<1B>(s0p" SelectPostfix "h0s0b4099T"
However in formats such as PDF, PostScript and for default AFP settings, no manual configuration in the DRS files are required.
See the Design Center documentation for how to enable the Type Manager on the drivers..
