Modifying metadata groups and document types

As long as no document type is deployed to the enterprise repository, you can modify the metadata groups and document type resources at any time.

If you modify a document type after it has been deployed – this also applies to modifying any of the metadata groups included – the repositories are affected by the changes. This means the applications that use the document type information in the repositories may be affected by the changes. See Consequences of redeploying modified document types for more information.
