StreamServe device drivers

A StreamServe device driver consists of :

•	A driver file (*.drs), and any files referred to from this driver file, for example encoding files (*.enc) or mapping files (*.map). When you export the Project, the driver file, and any referred files, are exported to <export_directory>\drivers\.

•	Options, such as page size and duplex options, that you specify in the Design Center (output connector configuration). When you export the Project, the property settings are included in the Platform file.

All device drivers available to the Design Center are stored in an internal StreamServe device driver repository.

StreamServe device driver tools

For Microsoft® Windows® operating systems, StreamServe provides two tools for handling device drivers:

•	The Windows Driver Tool used to create new StreamServe compatible Windows printer drivers. See The Windows Driver Tool.

•	The Device Tool used to add device drivers to, and edit device drivers in, the internal StreamServe device driver repository. See The Device Tool.
