Redeploying a Design Center Project
Every time you update a Design Center Project, you must export the Project and redeploy the Project export file to the StreamServer application.
Identifying differences between a new export file and a deployed export file
Before you make an export, you can compare the export file you want to deploy with the export file that is already deployed to the application. Comparing the export files helps you to see the impact of deploying the new file, for example, you can see if scripts, fonts or other resources have been changed.
When you compare export files, a comparison report is displayed, which shows the following:
Note:
You can compare export files during the deploy process by using the Compare export packages on deploy option in the Deploy wizard. You can also compare the export files at any time, see Comparing an export file with the deployed export file.
Modified document types and StoryTeller Processes
If the Project includes modified document types or modified StoryTeller Processes used as templates in Composition Center, you may not be allowed to redeploy the Project.
If an update results in an increased StoryTeller template version number, the corresponding document definition is automatically unpublished.
Updates in Message storages and Post-processing storages
If the Project includes paused Messages in Message storages, the type of Project modification decides whether the updates are applied to these Messages at redeploy. For more information, see Modifying the Design Center Project in Ad Hoc Correspondence and Correspondence Reviewer User Guide.
If the Project includes documents in Post-processing storages, any updates are applied to these documents at redeploy.
*
All or nothing is deployed
If the redeployment for some reason fails, none of the Project updates are deployed. The export file used before the failed redeployment remains on the StreamServe application. For example, if a Project contains several updated document types and all changes except one are accepted for redeployment, none of the updates are deployed.
