Creating a repository from Control Center (IBM® DB2®)

Prerequisites

•	The connection settings to the enterprise repository are configured. See Configuring the connection settings for StreamServe Enterprise Repository.

•	The management gateway and the IBM DB2 database instance for the repository are installed on different hosts.

During development, you can use a virtual environment to fulfill the separate host requirement. Install one software on the local computer and the other one in the virtual environment.

•	A DB2 client or server is available on the host where the management gateway is installed. On Windows, a DB2 runtime client can be installed by the OpenText StreamServe setup. For UNIX, you must manually install a DB2 client or server.

•	AUTHENTICATION SERVER is configured for the IBM DB2 instance. See OpenText StreamServe IBM DB2 Database Guidelines.

•	The login details for the database administration user are available. By default, the database administration user that creates a schema (that is, an OpenText StreamServe repository) will be the schema owner of that schema.

Post requisites

•	Do a sanity check to make sure the repository was created according to your configurations.

To create a repository from Control Center

1	Right-click the site node and select Create Database. The Create Database dialog box opens.

2	In the Operation area, select Create now.

3	Select the repository.

4	Click Start to run the scripts. The Connect dialog box opens.

5	Enter the user name and password for the database administration user.

Click OK.

After creating an enterprise repository, the management gateway automatically tries to connect to the new enterprise repository.
