Configuration dialog box (Document Broker repository)

The Configuration dialog box is used to configure the following settings:

•	Database settings for the Document Broker repository.

•	User name and password to access the Document Broker repository.

When you create the Document Broker repository, these settings are used.

Notes

•	The Database name/Service name (SID), User name, and Password settings must follow the naming standards of the database server. Contact your database administrator for more information.

•	The Document Broker repository must use the same database vendor as StreamServe Enterprise Repository and the runtime repository.

Document Broker repository on Microsoft SQL Server

 

Setting	Description
Database vendor	Microsoft SQL Server
Host name	The IP address or host name of the database server. Note: If you use a named instance of SQL Server, you must specify the host name and instance name using the syntax <hostname>\<instancename>. For example: gbg5000\instance1
Port	The port used for communication with the database server (by default, 1433).
Database name	The name of the Document Broker repository. By default, the name you entered in the New Document broker Repository dialog box is suggested as Database name.
Recovery Settings	The recovery options for the Document Broker repository On lost repository connection – Specifies how StreamServer should reconnect to the repository in case of a lost connection. • Attempt recovery a limited number of times – StreamServer tries to make <x> number of reconnection attempts to the repository. • Attempt recovery an unlimited number of times – StreamServer tries to reconnect to the repository until a connection has been successfully established. • Do not attempt recovery – StreamServer does not try to reconnect to the repository. If reconnection attempts fail: • Ignore the failure and continue processing – StreamServer application continues to process the current job. • Stop processing on the affected Repository – The current job is aborted and StreamServer is stopped.
Recovery Settings	Reconnection attempts – The number of times StreamServer attempts to reconnect the repository. Time between attempts – The time period between the reconnection attempts.
User name	The user name to access the Document Broker repository. Note: You cannot use the system administrator as user name (for example, sa for SQL Server).
Password	The password to access the Document Broker repository.

Document Broker repository on Oracle Database

Database vendor	Oracle
Host name	The IP address or host name of the database server.
Port	The port used for communication with the database server (by default, 1521).
Service name (SID)	The name of the Document Broker repository.
Recovery Settings	The recovery options for the Document Broker repository On lost repository connection – Specifies how StreamServer should reconnect to the repository in case of a lost connection. • Attempt recovery a limited number of times – StreamServer tries to make <x> number of reconnection attempts to the repository. • Attempt recovery an unlimited number of times – StreamServer tries to reconnect to the repository until a connection has been successfully established. • Do not attempt recovery – StreamServer does not try to reconnect to the repository. User name	The user name to access the Document Broker repository. The user is automatically created when the Document Broker repository is created. The setting is also used as schema owner. Note: You cannot use the system administrator as user name.
Password	The password to access the Document Broker repository.

Host name	The IP address or host name of the database server.
Port	The port used for communication with the database server (by default, 50000).
Database name	The name of the Document Broker repository.
Database instance	The instance name of the Document Broker repository. • Windows example – db2 • UNIX example – db2inst1
Recovery settings	The recovery options for the Document Broker repository On lost repository connection – Specifies how StreamServer should reconnect to the repository in case of a lost connection. • Attempt recovery a limited number of times – StreamServer tries to make <x> number of reconnection attempts to the repository. • Attempt recovery an unlimited number of times – StreamServer tries to reconnect to the repository until a connection has been successfully established. • Do not attempt recovery – StreamServer does not try to reconnect to the repository. If reconnection attempts fail: • Ignore the failure and continue processing – StreamServer application continues to process the current job. • Stop processing on the affected Repository – The current job is aborted and StreamServer is stopped.

User name	The data administration user that access the Document Broker repository. • Windows example – db2admin • UNIX example – db2inst1 Note: The user must exist before the repository is created and must have privileges to create databases. That is, the user must have instance level authority corresponding to sysadm.
Password	The password to access the Document Broker repository.
