Configuration dialog box (Collector archive)

The Configuration dialog box is used to configure the following settings:

•	Database settings for the Collector archive.

•	User name and password to access the Collector archive.

When you create the Collector archive, these settings are used.

Notes

•	The Database name/Service name (SID), User name, and Password settings must follow the naming standards of the database server. Contact your database administrator for more information.

•	The Collector archive must use the same database vendor as StreamServe Enterprise Repository and the runtime repository.

Collector archive on Microsoft SQL Server

 

Setting	Description
Database vendor	Microsoft SQL Server
Host name	The IP address or host name of the database server. Note: If you use a named instance of SQL Server, you must specify the host name and instance name using the syntax <hostname>\<instancename>. For example: gbg5000\instance1
Port	The port used for communication with the database server (by default, 1433).
Database name	A name for the Collector archive. By default, the name you entered in the New Collector Archive dialog box is suggested as Database name.
Recovery Settings > On lost repository connection	Recovery options for the Collector archive. Specifies how the Archiver application should reconnect to the repository in case of a lost connection. Attempt recovery a limited number of times – The Archiver application tries to make <x> number of Reconnection attempts to the repository. Attempt recovery an unlimited number of times – The Archiver application tries to reconnect to the repository until a connection has been successfully established. Do not attempt recovery – The Archiver application does not try to reconnect to the repository.
Recovery Settings > If reconnection attempts fail	Recovery options for the Collector archive. The action to take if the reconnection fails. Stop processing on the affected Archiver – The current job is aborted and the Archiver application is stopped. Ignore the failure and continue processing – The Archiver application continues to process the current job.
Recovery Settings > Reconnection attempts	Recovery options for the Collector archive. The number of times the Archiver application attempts to reconnect the repository.
Recovery Settings > Time between attempts	Recovery options for the Collector archive. The time period between the reconnection attempts.
User name	The user name to access the Collector archive. The user is automatically created when the Collector archive is created. Note: You cannot use the system administrator as user name (for example, sa for SQL Server).
Password	The password to access the Collector archive.

Collector archive on Oracle Database

Service name (SID)	A name for the Collector archive.
