Service Configuration dialog box (Task Scheduler)

In the Service Configuration dialog box, you set up the tasks for a Task Scheduler application. You can add several tasks to the same application.

Setting	Description
Run system command	Select to create a system command task to be executed according to the specified schedule.
Update job status	Select to update and report the statuses of top jobs. For information about this task and the corresponding settings, see OpenText StreamServe Database Guidelines for the database vendor.
Delete expired jobs	Select to delete expired StreamServe jobs from the runtime repository according to the specified schedule. For information about this task and the corresponding settings, see OpenText StreamServe Database Guidelines for the database vendor.
Delete expired Messages	Select to delete expired Messages from Message storages in the runtime repository according to the specified schedule. For information about this task and the corresponding settings, see OpenText StreamServe Database Guidelines for the database vendor.
Delete expired documents	Select to delete expired documents from Post-processing storages in the runtime repository according to the specified schedule. For information about this task and the corresponding settings, see OpenText StreamServe Database Guidelines for the database vendor.
Run database maintenance	Select to perform database maintenance on a specified repository according to the specified schedule. For information about this task and the corresponding settings, see OpenText StreamServe Database Guidelines for the database vendor.
Template synchronization	Select to create a task for synchronizing the StoryTeller template version stored in the web content repository with the version stored in the runtime repository. For information about how to set up this task, see Scheduling synchronization of templates.
Add	Click to add a new task.
Remove	Click to remove the selected task.

For each added task, the settings below are available.

Setting	Description
Type	The type of task.
Name	A descriptive name for the scheduled task.
Description	A description of the scheduled task.
Schedule	The interval at which the application performs the scheduled task. You set up the interval in the Scheduler Configuration dialog box. You reach the Scheduler Configuration dialog box by selecting the field and clicking the button to the right of the field.
Logical task name	Applicable for Run system command tasks. The logical name of the system command, to be used in the log file. This parameter is optional.
Command	Applicable for Run system command tasks. The system command, including parameters, to be executed by the application. The command must follow the syntax of the operating system where the application is run. For example, on Windows, use backslash (\) as a directory separator and quotes ("") for arguments containing spaces. For example, the following command runs a batch file that triggers reports according to the specified schedule: "c:\My Reports\TriggerReport.bat –type ReportType –SortOrder Alpabethical"
Working directory	Applicable for Run system command tasks. The name and path of the working directory for the system command task. For example, for the command above you can specify the following working directory for the reports: c:\My Maintenance Reports If you leave this option empty, the working directory for the application is used: <Base directory>\<Version>\root\applications\<Task Scheduler name>\wd Where: • <Base directory> – Is the path specified for StreamServe Projects during the Framework and StreamServer installation. For example: C:\ManagementGateway • <Task Scheduler name> – Is the name of the Task Scheduler application.
