Enhancing storage options with enterprise library metadata

You can use enterprise library metadata to enhance and control storage options in Content Server and Archive Server. Some examples of how you can use Enterprise Library metadata include:

•	To specify the content viewer that Content Server uses to open a document.

•	To control whether multiple versions of a document are allowed in Content Server.

Enterprise Library metadata included in the StreamServe Setup

The StreamServer Setup includes a metadata group with properties from Enterprise Library. You can use these properties to specify the document name, folder ID and content type of documents.

The metadata in this group are global properties in Enterprise Library, which are available for all document models in Enterprise Library.

Location of description file

The description file for the metadata group is located in the following directory: <StreamServe installation directory>\Applications\StreamServer\5.6.0\Tools\System\data\dcres

To use the Enterprise Library metadata to store documents

1	Open the resource set.

2	Browse to and add the metadata group ELSSytemMetadataGroup.dcres

3	Share the metadata group with the relevant document types.

4	In the document type resource, enable the metadata you want to use in the Archive context.

5	Assign values to the metadata you want to use.
