Deploying a new version of the Project
You can run multiple versions of the same Project on different StreamServer applications in the same application domain. For example, to preview and release paused Messages based on the original version of the Project, and at the same time create new documents based on the updated version of the same Project.
Increase the Project version
To deploy a new Project version, you must manually increase the Project version at export. When you increase the Project version, the versions of all included StoryTeller templates are automatically increased. When the StreamServer application is started, all Composition Center document definitions based on the templates are automatically unpublished.
Note:
Impact control on application domain level
At the deployment, Control Center compares the Project and template versions to the ones already deployed in the application domain. If you try to deploy a combination of Project and template versions that is not compatible with the versions already deployed, a warning is issued. For example, if you revert to an earlier version of a template in a later version of the Project.
Only one published version of a document definition at a time
After deployment and template synchronization, all document definitions based on the templates are automatically unpublished in Composition Center. When the business user republishes a document definition, the document definition is tied to the StreamServer application that runs the latest Project version. This StreamServer application is the only one that can create new documents based on the document definition.
