Approval workflow in Composition Center In this scenario, a consumer product company has used Composition Center for some time, and a number of templates are available and used in Composition Center. Two business users with different Composition Center access rights are active in this scenario: • David – Works in the marketing department. He is assigned a role with basic access rights. • Dorothea – The manager of the marketing department. She is assigned a role with full access rights. Dorothea has created a number of document definitions from the templates. David uses one of the document definitions when he writes a letter to introduce a new product to Swedish retailers. He describes the new product by adding a reusable text, that is written by a colleague, and an image created by an external company. To personalize the letter, he writes an introduction text where he includes some customer specific metadata, such as the name of their contact person. Finally, he defines a rule based on date and customer country code. The rule determines when the letter is produced. To ensure that the letter is presented as expected, David simulates the correct date and country code and previews the letter. He is pleased with the result and since he does not have publishing rights, he sets the letter ready for publishing. Dorothea is notified that the letter is prepared and ready for publishing. She previews the letter and since she has some comments regarding the introduction text, she rejects the letter. David is notified that the letter is rejected. He makes some adjustments to the text and sets the letter ready for publishing. Dorothea is notified and previews the letter. Since she is pleased with the results, she publishes the letter.
