Document types and metadata Document types are used to categorize documents, for example, as letters and statements. Document types are configured as resources in Design Center. Metadata groups Each document type is assigned one or more metadata groups. For example, a group named Customer metadata containing metadata such as name, surname and category. In Composition Center, metadata groups make it easier for business users to identify and use a specific metadata. How metadata is used In Composition Center, business users use metadata to do the following: • To make text content dynamic and to personalize texts. For example, to include customer names in letters. • As conditions for rules.
