Areas

You use areas to define the positions on output documents where Composer texts and images can be imported. At runtime, texts and images are imported according to rules defined in Composer. A rule can be based on, for example, date or the customer category.

To create the text areas and make them available in Composer, you must configure Advanced Text areas in the PageOUT tool. If the Advanced Text area contains text, this text is replaced when texts or images are imported.

In Composer, the area is connected to the document type that is configured for the Message.

Naming areas

The name of the area must be unique within the application domain of the StreamServer application.

Since the area names are displayed in Composer, you should use descriptive names. For example, Invoice marketing message and Order footer. You should avoid special characters and you must not use curly brackets {}.
