You can add a Composition Center Section to your design by specifying a unique name for the Section. After you have saved the Process, deployed the Project, and started the StreamServer application, a template named as the StoryTeller Process and a Section with a name that you specified are available in Composition Center. The Section can then be edited in Composition Center.
Note: In Design Center, you can increase the Project version number when exporting the Project. This also increases the version number of all StoryTeller templates in the Project. This means that: there is a one-to-one relationship between the service versions exposed by the Project, and the template versions within the Project. This makes sure that document definitions created or updated in Composition center uses the latest service version. Also when unpublishing a document definition, a new version of the document definition is created using the latest service During runtime, the Section added to the StoryTeller document is replaced by the published version of the Section, depending on rules configured for the Section in Composition Center.
You can use the stIsEmpty() script function if you want an optional page to be created when there is content within a Composition Center Section. For information about rules and how to enable Composition Center, see the Composition Center user guide.
1 In the Document, Page, or Story view, right-click the position where the substitution is located and select Insert > Section. The Composition Center Section dialog opens.
Note: If you want to enable the content of the substitution to overflow (e.g. to another page), you must add the Section to a Story and connect it to a Story frame. Otherwise, the part of the section that does not fit in the story frame is truncated.
When you reference a Fragment from a StoryTeller Process, and that Fragment contains a Section, the Section will not be registered in the template exported to Composition Center.
You do not have to create a new Project version if you add or remove sections. This means that the same StreamServer application with the same version of the exported Project can continue to run and render output using the new or removed sections.
