Specifying what to do when external resources are modified

For objects in your document that are linked to external resources, you can select the following alternatives for when these resources are modified:

•	Automatically update the object in your document.

•	Display a prompt before updating the object.

•	Do not update the object.

When an external object is updated in your document, the undo buffer is emptied.

To specify resource update alternatives

1	Select Tools > Options.

2	In the Options dialog, select General.

3	Specify the option in the When resource is modified externally drop-down list.
