Enabling notifications

You enable notifications and specify when to create the status report in the Platform.

Enabling notifications will affect the performance of the StreamServer.

If you want to set up one Project that retrieves notifications from another Project, you must enable notifications in both Projects.

To enable notifications

1	Activate the generic Platform layer.

2	Right-click the Platform and select Configure Platform. The Configure Platform dialog box opens.

3	Select Use notifications.

4	From the Report status drop-down list, select when to report the job status.

Report status	Description
When input is received	Job completion is reported when input is received. This means Status Messenger only retrieves notifications until the job is placed in the input queue. You can only use this option if you add the Status Messenger input connector to the Project that you want to generate status reports for.
When output is queued	Job completion is reported when the job is queued in the output queue. This means Status Messenger only retrieves notifications until the job is placed in the output queue. You can only use this option if you add the Status Messenger input connector to the Project that you want to generate status reports for.
When delivered from the output queue	Job completion is reported when the job is delivered from the output queue. This means Status Messenger retrieves notifications for the job until the output connector delivers the job from the output queue. Use this option if you have a Project that retrieves notifications from another Project in the same application domain.
