Versioning Composition Center templates

Each time you modify Advanced Text areas exposed as sections (add, rename, or delete), the version of the Composition Center template is increased by 1. The Composition Center user is notified when a Composition Center template is changed, and must decide whether to update the document definitions based on the template.

Overriding the template version

If you modify Advanced Text areas several times before deploying, the version number is increased by 1 for each change made. When this happens, you can override the version before deploying.

For example, if the deployed version is 3, and you modify a text area four times before deploying again, the template version number is increased to 7. If you want to have version 4 instead of 7, you can override the version number, i.e. change 7 to 4, before deploying.

To override the template version

1	Select Tools > Template version.

2	Select Override version and enter your Template version.

Note:

You must not override the version with a number equal to or less than the latest deployed version. If you do, deployment will fail.
