Print Processor

Print Processor converts documents from Windows applications into LXF (StreamServe Layout eXchange Format) files. You can then send these files to StreamServer applications via a StreamServe input connector.

StreamServe Port Monitor

Port Monitor responds to requests from the Windows spool system and writes data to files or sends data to an FTP server.

Port Monitor ensures that all files delivered to the StreamServer application from the data source have unique file names. The file extension used is *.dsi. Port Monitor also functions as a logical printer in Windows environments.

Using Port Monitor ensures that you can access StreamServe as a logical printer with an IP address and that the data source can direct its output to the IP address. This is the usual way of handling output, for example, from AS/400 systems to StreamServer applications.

Configuring a StreamServer application for IBM AS/400

To use a StreamServer application to process output from an AS/400 environment, you must configure the AS/400 for the StreamServer application. For information, see StreamServer applications and AS/400 environments.
