Performance recommendations

In order to obtain the best performance, OpenText recommends that you configure the queue and output connector in the following way:

•	Use a single thread for the output queue. To configure this open the Manage Queues dialog box, select the Advanced tab, and in the Threads box enter 1.

•	Enable Callback Notifications on the Vista Plus Output Manager connector.

This allows VPOM to process StreamServe jobs asynchronously and to send job status notifications back to StreamServe via a Service Request input connector. This recommendation applies even in scenarios where job tracking is not required.

If you want use job tracking, the steps to enable Callback Notifications and configure job tracking are described in Configuration steps to set up job tracking.

If you do not want to use job tracking, you can set up Callback Notifications in the following way:

•	In the Vista Plus Output Manager output connector, configure the following settings in either the Platform or runtime configuration:

–	Callback Notifications - True.

–	Callback Service Name - The service name of the Service Request input connector that receives the notifications (see below).

•	Add a Service Request input connector with the following configuration:

–	Request type - Notification

–	Service name - The Callback Service Name you entered in the output connector (see above).

•	Add a service gateway to the application domain.

•	Verify the Vista Plus Output Manager web service is running.
