Configuring the user directories with OTDS

The following steps are required to configure the user directories with OTDS:

1	Configure the LDAP connection profile for OTDS in the Application Domain Editor. See Configuring the LDAP connection profile for OTDS.

2	Configure the web service connection profile for OTDS by using the template XML file in the StreamServe installation directory. See Configuring the web service connection profile for OTDS.

Authentication for SSSP-based web applications via OTDS

You can enable authentication via OTDS for Ad Hoc Correspondence, Correspondence Reviewer, and Document Broker Query (DBQ) Tool. For more information, see the OpenText StreamServe Security User Guide.

Configuring the LDAP connection profile for OTDS

1	In Control Center, right-click the application domain and select Edit Application Domain.

2	In the Application Domain Editor, click the Directory tab.

3	In the User directories list, click Internal or External.

4	In the Vendor list, click OTDS.

5	Enter the following settings:

–

Host name

–

Port

–

DN Base

–

User name

–

Password

Click OK.

Configuring the web service connection profile for OTDS

The StreamServe installation includes a template XML file that you use to configure the OTDS web service connection profile.

The template file contains separate elements for the connection profiles for the internal and external users of the directory server:

•	Internal users – the elements for the internal users have a name attribute that ends in internalotds.

•	External users – the elements for the internal users have a name attribute that ends in externalotds.

To configure the web service connection profile

1	Make a copy of the defaultotdstemplateprofiles.xml file from:

<StreamServe_Installation_directory>\Platform\Core\<version>\template

2	In the connectionprofile element for the internal and/or external users, update the following elements:

–	url – The URL for OTDS

–	port – The port used for communication.

3	Optionally, to use SSL to help secure the connection, uncomment the securechannelprofile element.

4	In the authenticationprofile element for the internal and/or external users, update the following elements:

–	name – The OTDS user name.

–	password – The password for authentication.

5	Save the file. You can use any name for the file.

6	Copy the XML file into the securityprofiles folder in the working directory of each StreamServe application that requires access to OTDS.
