Adding a StreamServer application

You must add the required StreamServer applications to the application domain. You need at least one StreamServer application for each Design Center Project.

You can add applications on your local host, or on remote hosts that are part of the site. The remote host must be configured to use the StreamServe Enterprise Repository that the site is connected to.

Logical names

You can assign logical names to StreamServer applications. You can, for example, use the name of the corresponding Design Center Project as logical name.

The logical name is used as identifier when deploying to a StreamServer application. All StreamServer applications in an application domain that have the same logical name are treated as the same StreamServer application.

For example, if an application domain includes two StreamServer applications with the same logical name (e.g. for load balancing), and you deploy to one of these StreamServer applications, the same configuration is by default deployed to both StreamServer applications. When you deploy, you can select whether to deploy to both applications (default option) or to one StreamServer application only.

To add a new application

1	Right-click the application domain and select New Application. The New Application dialog box opens.

2	From the Application host drop-down list, select the host used to run the application.

3	Configure the application properties. See New Application dialog box.

Click OK.

You can now deploy a Design Center Project to the application.

To add an application on a remote host

1	Right-click the application domain and select New Application. The New Application dialog box opens.

2	From the Application host drop-down list, select Show all. All the hosts in the site are displayed.

3	Select the host for the application.

4	Configure the application properties. See New Application dialog box.

5	Click OK. The Connect dialog box opens.

6	Enter the user name and password for a management gateway user and click OK.

The remote host and application are added to the tree view. You can now deploy a Design Center Project to the application.
