Storing custom metadata with documents You can store custom metadata with documents, such as customer name or number. In Content Server, you can use custom metadata to search for documents and see detailed information about documents. After you set up custom metadata for a StreamServe document type, you must map the metadata to either a property in the Enterprise Library document model or an attribute of a Content Server Category. Use the same names for the Design Center metadata and the corresponding Enterprise Library property. Using the same names means you can use Automap in Control Center, which maps the StreamServe metadata to Enterprise Library properties for you. To store custom metadata for documents 1 If you do not already have a metadata group, create a metadata group. 2 In the metadata group, do the following: – Add the metadata that you want to store with the documents. – Share the metadata with the document type resource. 3 In the document type resource, do the following: – Assign values to metadata. – Enable the metadata in the archive context. 4 If you have not already done so, connect the document type resource to the documents.
