Managing resource spacing properties

With the resource spacing properties in Composition Center, the business user can control spacing and indentation before and after texts and images. The available properties are presented in drop-down lists in the Resource spacing area in Composition Center.

Customizations in resource.properties

By editing the resource.properties file, you can customize the values and units in the Resource spacing drop-down lists.

If you redeploy the WAR file for StreamStudio, for example to apply a hotfix, any customizations made to the configuration file are overwritten. To keep customizations, you can use an external directory outside the portal root for your configuration files. See Keeping customized configuration files in the Control Center documentation.

To customize values and units

1	Open the resource.properties file in a text editor. The file is located in:

<Portal root>\<Portal name>\WEB-INF\spring\properties

For example, for Apache Tomcat:

<TOMCAT_HOME>\webapps\<Portal name>\WEB-INF\spring\properties

Note:

If you use an external directory (outside the portal root) for the configuration files, you must update the file in this directory.

2	Follow the instructions in the property file to update the spacing or indent properties.

3	Save the changes.

4	Restart the Java application server to apply the changes.
