StreamServe web application configurations > Deploying a web application

Deploying a web application
A StreamServe web application is based on Java code and must be deployed to a Java application server. The deployment is made by the management gateway.
Deployment to an open environment
If the management gateway has write access to the Java application server, you can deploy the web application directly from Control Center. For example, this might be the case in a development, testing, or demonstration scenario.
The management gateway copies the web application archive (WAR) files to the Java application server. After linking the web application to the application domain, the application domain configuration file and any dependencies between the deployed applications are available to the web application.
Note:
Deployment to an isolated environment
A common production scenario is that the OpenText StreamServe software is installed on a different computer than the Java application server, with a firewall in between the computers.
In such a scenario, the management gateway deploys the WAR files to a predefined directory. After linking the web application to the application domain, the application domain configuration file and any dependencies between the deployed applications are available in the predefined directory. You must then manually copy the WAR files and the related folders to the Java application server.
