Creating a repository from Control Center (IBM DB2)

Prerequisites

•	The runtime repository is configured in the Application Domain Editor. See Creating and configuring an application domain.

•	The management gateway and the IBM DB2 database instance for the repository are installed on different hosts.

During development, you can use a virtual environment to fulfill the separate host requirement. Install one software on the local computer and the other one in the virtual environment.

•	A DB2 client or server is available on the host where the management gateway is installed.

–	On Windows, you can run the setup for the DB2 runtime client by navigating to the OpenText StreamServe 5.6.1 Setup media directory. The runtime client is located in: <Setup>\Software\SetupPrerequisites\db2 runtime client 9.7 32 bit for windows

–	For UNIX, no DB2 client or server is provided via the OpenText StreamServe Setup.

–	Restart the management gateway after installing the DB2 client or server.

•	AUTHENTICATION SERVER is configured for the IBM DB2 instance. See OpenText StreamServe IBM DB2 Database Guidelines.

•	The login details for the database administration user are available. By default, the database administration user that creates a schema (that is, an OpenText StreamServe repository) is the schema owner of that schema.

Post requisites

•	Do a sanity check to make sure the repository was created according to your configurations.

•	To effectuate prepared database parameters and do a basic tuning of the runtime repository, you must restart the IBM DB2 instance. For more information, see OpenText StreamServe IBM DB2 Database Guidelines.

To create a repository from Control Center

1	Right-click the application domain and select Create Database. The Create Database dialog box opens.

2	In the Operation area, select Create now.

3	Select the repository.

4	Click Start to run the scripts. The Connect dialog box opens.

5	Enter the user name and password for the database administration user.
