Runtime Repository tab

The Runtime Repository tab is used for specifying the connection settings for the runtime repository, which includes the Queue, Security, and Web Access repositories.

Notes

•	The Database name/Service name (SID), User name, and Password settings must follow the naming standards of the database server. Contact your database administrator for more information.

•	The runtime repository must use the same database vendor as StreamServe Enterprise Repository.

Runtime repository on Microsoft SQL Server

 

Setting	Description
Database vendor	Microsoft SQL Server
Database name	A name for the runtime repository.
Host name (\instance name)	The IP address or host name of the database server. Note: If you use a named instance of SQL Server, you must specify the host name and instance name using the syntax <hostname>\<instancename>. For example: gbg5000\instance1
Port	The port used for communication with the database server (by default, 1433).

Repositories

In the repositories area, the connection profile settings below are available for the Queue, Security, and Web Access repositories.

Setting	Description
Profile name	A name for the user profile.
User name	The user name to access the repository. The user is automatically created when the runtime repository is created. If you use the same instance for more than one application domain, where possible you should configure unique user names in each domain. If you use the same user name in more than one application domain, you must also use the same password in each domain. Note: You cannot use the system administrator as user name (for example, sa for SQL Server).
Password	The password to access the repository.
Reset to Default	Resets the settings for the selected repository to the default values.

Runtime repository on Oracle Database

 

Setting	Description
Database vendor	Oracle
Schema owner	The schema owner of the tables, functions, users, etc. for the Queue, Security, and Web Access repositories. The schema owner should be unique for each application domain.
Host name	The IP address or host name of the database server.
Port	The port used for communication with the database server (by default, 1521).
Service name (SID)	The name of the runtime repository.

Repositories

In the repositories area, the connection profile settings below are available for the Queue, Security, and Web Access repositories.

Runtime repository on IBM DB2

Database vendor	IBM DB2
Database instance	The instance name of the runtime repository. • Windows example – db2 • UNIX example – db2inst1
Database name	The name of the runtime repository.
Host name	The IP address or host name of the database server.
Port	The port used for communication with the database server (by default, 50000).

Repositories

In the repositories area, the connection profile settings below are available for the Queue, Security, and Web Access repositories.

Setting	Description
Profile name	A name for the user profile.
User name	The data administration user that accesses the runtime repository. • Windows example – db2admin • UNIX example – db2inst1 You must assign the same user for the Queue, Security, and Web Access repositories. The user must exist before the repository is created and must have privileges to create databases. That is, the user must have instance level authority corresponding to sysadm. To be able to successfully connect to the IBM DB2 database server, the user must also have the following privileges: • BINDADD – For binding packages. • CREATEIN – On the collection specified by the Package Collection option. • GRANT EXECUTE – On the PUBLIC group for executing the packages.
Password	The password to access the repository.
Reset to Default	Resets the settings for the selected repository to the default values.
